TOP RATED 5 STARS AT NYC WINE EVENTS
Agiorgitiko/ Cabernet Sauvignon
Vines aged 10-35 years in argillic-clay soil with exposure to the northwest.
Elevation 700 meters, hot summers, chilly winters.
Traditional winemaking for Cabernet Sauvignon and cryo-fermentation for Agiorgitiko. Skins separated from the must before the end of the fermentation and ran for 45 days.
This dry red wine blends the heirloom Greek variety, Agiorgitiko (Ah yor yee` ti ko), grown in the region of Nemea which has a long wine making history, with the well known Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in French and American oak barrels. It has an intense red color with crimson shades, a fruity, full, round body and a long finish. Cherry with vanilla and tobacco notes, accompanies dried fruit with an under layer of green peppers. Its high acidity provides a tannic balance, making it soft and long.
Pairs exceptionally well with red meats, cheeses, tomato sauces, and spicy dishes.
Best served at 60 – 64 o F.
